Trial Dive

A new world

At The Delph diver training centre you get to experience a weightless underwater environment and the pleasures of Scuba Diving. This gives you an opportunity for a truly unique experience and help you discover a totally new and exiting underwater world, all if which is set in picturesque countryside.

Experienced, qualified diving instructors will introduce you to the basics of Scuba Diving which will include: Equipment familiarisation, Basics of theory, Practical exercises and (S.C.U.B.A.) Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus.

What do I have to do?

Everything is kept simple. You will first be given a brief talk on how to breathe underwater. The instructor will then explain and demonstrate how to use your equipment, they will also show you some basic hand signals. Next it's into the pool or quarry to go through a few simple skills. Remember, you are always in safe hands at the delph.

What do I need to bring?

We provide all the necessary diving equipment for your trial dive, the only thing you will need is swim wear, a towel and perhaps a camera to snap your first diving experience.

Padi open water

Padi open waterThis course will take you from beginner to open water diver in 4 days without cutting corners. You will be taught by experienced instructors who will take you through each stage at your own pace. The course starts as soon as you receive the crew pack. The crew pack contains the complete theory part of the course including:

A student record file

Fill this in and bring it with you on the first day of the course. When filling in the medical questions if you answer yes to any of them, don't panic just contact us and we will give you another form for your Doctor to complete.

Course workbook

This has 5 chapters - at the end of each chapter there is a knowledge review for yo u to complete. Fill in all 5 chapters before starting the course and bring them with you.

Dive tables & booklet

Please read carefully as the booklet explains how they work. If they don't make sense don't worry we will cover them in the course theory session.

DVD

The DVD has 5 chapters which complements the course work book . please return it to us at the end of the course.

Theory sessions

We will review the 5 chapters you completed previously and ensure you are happy with the contents.There is a multiple-choice quiz to complete followed by a chance to discuss any areas in more detail with your instructor.

Pool sessions

There are skills from each of the 5 chapters to complete in the pool where you can practice and perfect your new skills and have some fun.

Open water dives

This is your chance to put all the skills you have perfected in the pool with your instructor into practice in our purpose built lake. This runs over 2 days consisting of 2 dives per day lasting between 20-30 minutes each.

"Limited Period Only" Open Water Course from just £250. This includes open water crew pack, equipment hire, air, use of the indoor heated swimming pool plus 2 years membership at the delph dive centre. Remember there are no hidden costs.

On completion of your course you will receive the internationally recognised Padi Open Water Diver Certification Card.

Padi advanced open water

Your next step

Padi Advanced open waterThe padi advanced open water course takes your newly acquired skills and enhances them. It provides you an insight into various diving areas and increases your skills.

The advanced course consists of 5 dives which you undertake with your instructor. Two of these are core dives, which are deep dive and navigation dive. The other 3 you choose is up to you. below you will find a brief explanation of each dive module.

Deep dive

This means a dive in excess of 18 meters but not deeper that 30 meters under the direct supervision of your instructor.

Navigation dive

This dive enhances your underwater navigation skills with and without a compass.

Dry suit dive

This introduces you to the correct use of a dry suit for diving in cooler waters i.e. the UK.

Peak performance buoyancy

Be the best and learn to make diving an art form! you can look graceful and totally in control underwater.

Night dive

Just what it says, a dive at night or in the dark is a great opportunity to view underwater life in a different light.

Wreck diving

select one of our underwater features and learn how to dive a wreck safely and how to get the most out of it.

Photography

This is an introduction into one of the most popular underwater activities, with plenty of underwater attractions to choose from at the delph, you will be spoilt for choice.

DVP

An opportunity to glide effortlessly through the water using an underwater scooter.

These are just a small selection of the most popular dives that can form part of the advanced diver course all of which can be upgraded to full speciality certification with further training. This is one of the best ways to gain diving experience under the direct supervision of the instructor. The course can be run over 2 days or 5 separate dives.

Padi rescue diver

Be prepared

Padi Rescue DiverHow do you take a subject like accident prevention and management and turn it into fun? call it the padi rescue diver course.

The course develops on your skills and knowledge you have developed so you can effectively perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and applying first aid. The course is an important step in expanding your knowledge and experience as a diver. Padi rescue diver certification is a prerequisite for all padi leadership courses i.e. dive master and above.

To be able to do the rescue diver program you need to be certified as a padi advanced diver and be at least 15 years old. There is a junior course for 12-14 year olds who hold junior advanced open water. You also need to have completed the padi emergency first response course within the last 3 years. The course will cover:

  • Self rescue and diver stress
  • Diving first aid
  • Emergency management and equipment considerations
  • Swimming and non-swimming assists
  • Panicking diver response
  • Underwater problems
  • Missing diver procedures
  • Surfacing an unconscious diver
  • In-water artificial respiration
  • Rescue exits / recoveries
  • First aid procedures for pressure related dive accident scenarios

After successfully completing the course you will receive the internationally recognised Padi Rescue Diver Certification Card
